The Hotlist: September Inspiration

September always feels like a fresh chapter, doesn’t it? The kids are back to school (mine’s at the end of big school” – hallelujah!), the mornings are crisp, and yet we’re still clinging onto those last golden rays of summer. I am trying to get the last of the morning runs in. It’s that busy-but-exciting mix of school runs, new routines, gym sessions, fresh planners, and hopefully a little space carved out just for you. So, we’ve rounded up a few things currently on our radar from small style boosts to simple self-care treats that brighten the everyday.

A MINI GETAWAY MOMENT ✈️

Looking for something light to binge once the little ones are asleep? Netflix has plenty of female-fronted dramas and feel-good films that are perfect for a cozy night in.

And for those who’d rather swap the sofa for the stadium the Women’s Rugby World Cup is here this September 2025. It’s the ultimate excuse to cheer, shout, and show our kids that women are every bit as tough, strong, and unstoppable as anyone else especially for us solo mums.

SLEEP, BUT MAKE IT RESTFUL 🌙

New season, new routines – and for many of us, new bedtime battles with little ones. A few helpers we’re reaching for:

✨ Magnesium Glycinate – known to support deeper, more restorative sleep, ease muscle tension, and even help with stress and mood.

✨ Olive Bonas Sleep Cream (Lisburn Road) – a dreamy, soothing ritual to wind down before bed.

And remember, motherhood is magical, but it can also be overwhelming. So if you need to talk about it helps lighten how you feel and need some support lconnecting with a BACP-registered counsellor can be a game-changer, or Relate. Looking after your mind wellbeing is just as vital as caring for your little one.

GLOW, BUT KEEP IT SIMPLE ✨

Just because summer’s nearly over doesn’t mean the sunshine’s gone. September still has those bright, crisp days, and your skin deserves protection.

  • Dermalogica Golden Hour Hydrating SPF30 Stick – one swipe gives you hydration, a soft golden sheen, and reliable sun protection. Perfect for on-the-go.

  • Charlotte Tilbury Glow Stick – for that effortless, lit-from-within finish. Toss it in your bag for quick touch-ups between school runs and coffee dates.

FOR YOUR DIARY 🗓️

This month, we loved a few mummy-meet-ups in Belfast – if you haven’t tried Margot for cocktails, add it to your list (10/10, highly recommend). The Ivy also got a big thumbs-up from the girls.

And with Halloween just around the corner, keep an eye on our page for all the fantastic local council events happening during the mid-term break – there’s loads to keep the little ones entertained! 🎃

HOME & HAVEN 🏡

As the evenings draw in, nothing feels better than making your space extra cozy:

• H&M Home has a stunning autumn collection, think rich throws, textured cushions, and chic accent chairs.

• Yard 100% Cotton Bed Linen + Matching Bath Mats – because climbing into fresh, soft sheets is the ultimate luxury.

• Zara’s New Season – we’re obsessed with the denim revival and buttery suede jackets.

Also, the new Walk in Wardrobe gym wear looks so good, you’ll want to wear it on the school run (even if you’re not stepping foot near a treadmill).

FILL YOUR OWN CUP ☕🍌

Tried this little pick-me-up yesterday and had to share:

Breakfast Smoothie with a Kick

  • 1½ frozen bananas

  • 2 shots of espresso

  • ½ cup almond milk

  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder

  • 1 tbsp nut butter

  • A handful of ice

  • Sprinkle of dark chocolate on top

It’s energizing, delicious, and makes the morning rush a little more bearable.

STYLE CRUSH: LOUISE REDKNAPP 👟

Our September muse has to be Louise Redknapp. She’s got that effortless, everyday chic down to a fine art – think relaxed joggers, cozy knits, and trainers that keep up with school runs and coffee catch-ups. Plus, her denim game? Absolute goals.
